Notes: Well for starts this is the first project that I've done with my son, so that makes it really cool. Second this trucks been around my area for a few years. It origonally come from Utah and was tottaly rust free. But as you can Imagine, a few years in Michigan winters took its tole. Its still very, very solid but after the son ran into the drivers side rocker with his go cart we can now see where the worst rust is. as the pictures show it has a small block in it thats the way it came to this state. I have been visiting the wabsite for quite a while and have been amazed at all the support from all the members. I look forward to gettig and giving all the advice I can.

I am making a center console and fiberglassing it.

LUV: 1977 Street
Name: Gary Brown
Location: Reno, NV USA
Forum Name: FireDog
Notes: My Truck is a 1977 chevy LUV fleet side. Or rather it was. I have replaced the fleet side with a short bed step side, Never thought it would be so easy to do. At first I thought I would have to cut down the frame, but as I got started it ended up all you have to do is take off the bumper bracket, and WALLA it's a short bed. I removed the old Isuzu 18 R engine and I am replaceing that with a 1980 3.8 Buick V-6 that I beleive I can get about 340 horse power out of. I took off the 2 barell intake and replaced that with a high rise Edelbrock intake with a 650 4 barell Edelbrock carb. I put an external oil cooling system, and tranny cooler on to keep the heat down in the engine compartment. When I got the truck the interior was all tore up so I have decided to take on the project myself of fixing it. I have built my own fiberglass center console and plan on wrapping that with carpet seperate from the floor so I can take the center out and in easily incase something goes wrong with the shifter or any of the wiring. The dash was completely shot so I have redone that out of fiberglass resin jelly and if I do say so myself it came out really well. I have never really worked with fiberglass of any kind so this is a first. (interesting stuff). Now that I have the dashh about done I am making a new dash face plate out of either aluminum diamond plate or stainless steel I haven't decided yet. Once that is done I am putting in all digital gauges instead of the ugly old ones I took out. I also plan on replacing the glove box cover with the same material I am going to use for the gauge face. As well I am doing the same to the interior door covers. I have a few pictures on my web site so please visit and take a look. I will be posting new pictures as the project goes along. So come see I think you mite enjoy it. Peace out. (FireDog)

LUV: 1980 On/Off Road
Name: William T. Renshaw
Location: Lewiston , ID USA
Forum Name: Brother B.
Notes: I am a proud owner of a 1980 Chevy LUV 4x4. I have just re-done the interior with Levis and I think it turned out pretty cool. Its one of a kind. The truck was a wreck when I purchased it in late 2000. I have a ton of money in the damn thing, but thats all right. I have a truck that will take me anywhere I wish to go...with in reason!! Its not a mudder or a stump jumper or a kelly hump humper but it goes where no full size truck may even want to go. 235 75 15's are on it now but I do have a very tall set of 14 that I am going to put on. Got cool slotted mags with em also. The truck was in bad and I mean bad shape when I purchsed it. Bullet holes in the floor board and mud like you could not believe. I just wished I had taken pictures of the thing before I started. NO ONE would believe what I have done to the thing so far. The list is very-very long!! It started out as a hunk of junk for 300 bucks! Weber carb was over 400 and I have invested alot of money in this thing that I absolutly LUV!!! I am now having to replace the motor because of a cracked head and ended up with fuel in the oil!! DAMN THE LUCK!! Bullet holes in the floor board and not alot of rust to contend with but lots of work. Redone the interior with "LEVIS"! Glassed the whole floor board after patching all the bullet holes! Have XM sattalite radio so I have tunes where ever I may go and Alpine and Infinity speakers hooked up to a Sony Explode deck. Seats are out of 98 Saturn Car. I have 15 inch tires and wheels but I am changing them to a tall 14 inch tire and wheels. The little 4 banger just dont like them BIG tires. I will lose about an inch of ground clearence but the fuel milage should increase, I HOPE! I think its one of a kind.
