Notes: When I bought this truck, it barely ran & looked like someone's estranged wife/girlfriend got jealous & beat the fire out of it with a sledge hammer. People used to tell me to scrap it because it was beyond hope. Well, I saw the potential it had & so did my Father-in-law, & a family friend, so we went to town sanding on it & bondoing the life out of it. I got some old school mojoque wheels & semi low-pro street tires & put on it. I spent the better part of 2 years tweaking with the carb (trying my hardest not to have to buy one) which got the thing running great until the jet lifter spring went out. I got a carb off of a '69 datsun 610 pick up (which by the way, is the same carb from a 78 or 79 LUV.) I put a new battery, alternator, inside fan motor, & clutch in it, as well as, us rewiring almost everything under the hood. My pa-n-law, our family friend & myself reupholstered the interior. My Bro-in-law custom made me an awesome annodized red chevy bowtie shifter knob...sweeeeet! Now, I sold it to my pa-n-law (I miss my baby!!!!) He broke down & bought a $300.00+ webber carb on it. It runs like a dream now. I'm jealous & I want it back! My wife absolutely hated this truck with a passion (no vision) Once it got revived, she wasn't so mad at me (or it) By the way, my wife was not the one who beat the truck up. |

Notes: I bought my trucks a year ago for $200.00 one is a 2 wheel drive parts truck and the other is a 4x4, soon to be my daily driver/toy. The parts truck is rebuildable(BigBlock?) but my focus is on the 4x4, and getting it road worthy with a new 1.8ltr. and some other fun stuff, I am looking for help and sug.on rebuild, I am new to the LUV truck craze but not new to rebuilds(cars etc.). This will be my first 4x4 rebuild and like I said above sug. are welcome. |

Best ET is 10.14 on gas in 1/4 mile. We have just changed over to alcohol. In the process of tuning now not sure what ET will be. |

Notes: I'v had my luv for about a year and would not take anything for it. The hood scoop actually takes in air. I had to put one on it because the one that was on it was destroyed and I had to cover the hole. It still has the 1.8 in it, but I would like to put a 4.3 in. Just as soon as my wife says we can afford to. Oh yea, I luv my pitbull, too. |

Notes: I purchased my Luv for $800.00 runs great, straight body, no rust. (Thank God it must also be from Eastern Oregon). It's looking like it has 145,000 miles on the original motor. It was originally red in color but is faded to three shades of orange. However I'm thinking of painting it orange and black and calling it Bvr-Luv for I'm a huge Oregon State fan. |
