Name: Peaches
Location: Macon, GA USA
Forum Name: peaches
Notes: I bought my LUV new in 1978. Still drive it about once a week. I am the only owner. My truck has 114k miles on it. I have let a lot of rust form on it,any ideas to get rust off. I keep good tires on it and a current tag and insurance. A few people have tried to buy it but for some reason, I can not part with the LUV. When I bought my Luv in 78 it had no radio or AC, it still does't have AC. Would a new 4.3 Vortec fit ny frame?

LUV: 1977 Street/Strip
Name: Bill Thompson
Location: Simms, TX USA
Forum Name: luvtrucktnt
Notes: I always wanted a luv truck since I was a teenager, have owned several in the last 7 years.Only have one now. When I was 18 or 19 I was living in Dallas and went to buy a luv that was already set up for a chevy v-8 and the guy couldnt sell me the truck because some-one had left him a deposit on it,the reason I wanted one so bad is because I was at the street races in Dallas and had been going to them for years and I seen this primer gray luv kick ass on all the cars and trucks there, then beat all the motorcycles.I was sold, since then I have built myself a luv truck, and like it too much because I spend more money and time with it than I do anything else.Even though I built the luv I still like the bikes nothing like the open air at 200 mph,or running low 9.s in the quarter or high 5.s in the 1/8th for way less money than I have in my luv.But the luv is still cool atleast when I leave the club I dont get wet when it rains hehehe.

Notes: My truck is bone stock except for the Holley elct. fuel pump. I purchased it from a friend in April 2004 and am saving some money for a paint job and an engine swap, I'm thinkng a 400 sbc. Right now it is orange and it has bucket seats out of a S-10 or Blazer, one of the two. I got in an accident in June of 04 and had to buy a doner truck off ebay for the front end. That one is a blue 79 4x4 that doesnt run.

Fast foward to the present. Just bought 2 LUVs 1980 and a 1978. The 78 is going to donate it's bed to this project it's a stepside. This truck will be PRO STREET running a 350/4 speed and a narrowed 9" Ford. I hope to have it on the street by April 2005.

LUV: 1972 Street/Strip
Name: Christian
Location: Westminster, CO USA
Forum Name: Chris66
Notes: I have a 1972 Chevy Luv with a 327 vortec. It's my dad and I's project truck for the drag strips and the road. I'm looking for someone around my area to go race with, and for some cool tips for rebuilding my truck. I really need help with the weight issue because when I put that 327 vortec it made the rear end stick up and the front squats pretty low so looking for help on that problem also. Thanks Christian

LUV: 1981 Daily Driver
Name: Thomas Barlow
Location: Colorado City, AZ USA
Notes: My father bought this truck in '84. It has a big dent in the side, the paint is wearing off, but I still love it. It is? well, it was silver. It has blue interior. Father put carpet in it and a nicer speaker system. It is a 1.8L 4-speed 2-wheel drive long bed. It has racks on it as Father used to use it for work. Right now it isn't working, something is wrong with the fuel pump or something, and as I am only 16 and still going to school, I haven't had time to fix it or get it fixed yet. Someday in the future I wish to put a bigger engine in it, but for now, I'll probably just use it for work. Sure is fun to cruise though. I would like to find a glove compartment cover for it, as the one that is in it got cracked.

LUV: 1979 On/Off Road
Name: Jonah Link
Location: Bullhead City, AZ USA
Forum Name: Big pappa
Notes: I bought this truck for $700. It has 115,000 miles and runs decent. I reupolstered the seat first thing. The exhaust is thrashed so i need to replace it. The four wheel drive is great though(already had fun in the mud with that). It's baby blue now but I might make it camo =). I named it Big Pappa.=p
