I whish I could finish this truck but the Air force sent me to Germany and I had to store it and my 1979 4X4 until I get back

LUV: 1980 Daily Driver
Name: Bill Burmeister
Location: Caldwell, ID USA
Forum Name: Bill, Idaho
Notes: Bought in about 1986 for $400, with 80,000 miles. Bed was stuffed full of extra alternators, doors, engine, water pumps, etc. I am on my second engine (with the starter out of the original engine) and now have more than 500,000 miles on it. The speedo broke about 5 years ago! Tranny, both the front and rear-ends are original, a handful of head-gaskets, 3 clutches, but otherwise, the TOUGHEST truck ever made. (Also the ugliest) Goal is put 1 million miles on it. It has a front bumper off of a semi! Home made stainless-steel roll bar and stainless-steel rear bumper that doubles as an air tank for my on-board compressor.

LUV: 1979 On/Off Road
Name: Dennis Lambert
Location: Pinole, CA USA
Forum Name: dllbert
Notes: Bought it 15 years ago for $20...basically, the gas money to tow it to my house. The reason it was so cheap is because the guy that sold it did not even own it! It had been abandoned in his front yard, which I suppose happens a lot in north Richmond, or so he said...anyway he said that was not an issue because he knew how I could make it mine through lien sale. So 62 days later all the legal stuff arrives, now the fun begins. New motor, glass, battery, tires, too many trips to salvage yards to count...my truck must have bits and pieces from about 50 other LUV trucks. Been running strong since then...though this year I had some troubles getting emissions under the allowable limits for CA It would be cool to get together with other LUV'ers...but not in a gay way, not that there's anything wrong with that. ;) -bert

LUV: 1980 Daily Driver
Name: John Furman
Location: Chandler, AZ USA
Forum Name: broknindarkagain
Notes: I just aquired a 1980 Chevy LUV. Its your classic junker truck. It has a tool box bed on it, the standard 4banger Isuzu motor in it, rear main seal leak, gas leak in the carb, and the timing/firing order were really messed up when i got it. Its definatly a project truck, but after some time and a little bit of money, it will be a show truck.

LUV: 1974 Street
Name: Vince Atkins
Location: Colfax, NC USA
Forum Name: fireattack
Notes: Just took possession of a "FREE" stock 1974 Luv. And yes, it actually was owned by a littly old lady that only drove it to pick up supplies from the local town she lives in. It only has 76,000 miles and it's sweet. It has a 1.8 liter, 4 speed manual. I'm presntly working on acquiring a mid 80's Isuzu 3rd member in 3.42 gear ratio to lower the rpm's on top end and take advantage of the mpg. I plain to keep her stock as possible, but at the same time making it as efficient as it can be. I just LUV this little truck and I'm proud to be part of the LUV.
