LUV: 1972 Street/Strip
Name: Mark Gronau
Location: Norfolk, NE USA
Forum Name: Aged Luv
Notes: Getting close to the retirement years I thought I needed another project. I have always liked the looks of the Chevy Luv. It took some time, but I found a 1972 to buy. The truck had no engine but was from the west coast area. This greatly helped with rust issues I was finding with the trucks I found living in Nebraska. At present, I am still collecting parts. Planning on giving the truck the vintage 70’s look powered with a small block Chevy engine, TH350 transmission and a Ford 9” rear end.

LUV: 1980 4x4
Name: Wendell
Location: Piney woods, TX USA
Notes: I have two 1980 Luvs, one Baby Blue 4X4 With original 4 Cylinder 4 speed with 92 K original miles. It sat for 15 years and I acquired it from the original owner in Tyler Tx. I had to do the Brakes, two wheel cylinders, new Master, Exhaust I welded myself, Electric fuel pump off Onan Generator, Plugs, points and Condenser, Cap and wires, still had Anti-Freeze. Repaired lights, serviced all runing gear, Wiper pivots were stuck bad, but now It is a Daily driver that gets a lot of attention, folks wanting to buy it constantly.. Four By Four works fine, locking hubs, I installed a Pioneer CD player Dash cover aftermarket. I also have a 2 Wheel Drive that I actually picked up for parts but the guy drove it from Louisiana about 100 miles away and parked it, so I don't intend to part it, but borrowed the grille and one lower door hinge. It still has the Four Cylinder 4 Speed and runs good. I am thinking maybe a 350/350 swap, I have an engine and tranny in an 84 Monte Carlo with a Vega stall, comp cam, roller tip rockers, M/T valve covers and an old Eldelbrock Dual plane pre Electronic Ignition, It was a point type intake and I had to remove a little off the rear runner for clearance to run an HEI Distributor I built, and I have a reworked Holley 750 Vac secondary Carb, so who knows? The Two Wheel Drive is Yellow with a Roadrunner on the fenders, a little rust here and there. I am a Mechanic/Body/Paint Tech with 45 years experience so ability is fine, Anyway, My Baby Blue 4X4 Drives great, I swapped the fourteen inch Wagon Wheels for a Set of 16" Factory aluminum wheels off a Izzuzu Trooper that fit perfect and had 6 lug pattern, large center for frt hubs and had the clearance I needed to clear upper control arms.
