Notes: Well I first acquired my 74 luv truck in 1975 with 5k miles on it, I was in calif. It was a great truck. Then the carb went south but I replaced it with a weber two barrel and lost some of the smog equipment.(accidentally) But man what a difference, everyone thought it had a v-6! Then in 1980 I needed major engine work so I installed a junk yard 327 c.i. chevy and a t-350. major fun. This motor did'nt last long though so I swapped it out for built 350 and installed a 66 mustang rearend, had the trans built and used a 1800 rpm stall. We're really having fun now! Here it is 2011 and I just rounded the cam in so now I gave this same truck to my son and we are rebuilding the engine and fixing up the truck together. I just can't get rid of my first Luv.

Notes: New brake master cylinder, starter, seats, weber, constant oil changes and tune ups. "All done myself". Carpet kit. She has the dual head lights and a series 1 bed with custom LED tail lights on Diamond plate. Custom exhaust and home made muffler. She also has a body lift with the torsion bars cranked but also the leaf springs moved to the top of the rear axle. After swapping out the Hitachi I couldn't believe the power I have gained she really moves now. All I want for her is some 31 10.5 15 mud tires and man will she be looking sweet. I would like to get a hold of the old 6 lug wheels these came with luvs I think they look good all painted up. But if there are no offers I don't like I'll just keep dumping money into her haha

Notes: I have owned my truck since 1983. Theough the years I drive it infrequently because I was too busy working and raising our family. I have retired now and finally have time to drive and want to fix it up. I get about two offers per month from people wanting to buy it. I'll never sell! I love my truck!!!!

Location: Spokane Valley, WA USA
Forum Name: McLUVn
Notes: My dad found it abandoned on his property after the owner let it overheat and locked up the engine. Overall it's a very stock and origianl truck, 4 speed, factory A/C, original faded paint but zero rust or body work. I'm in the middle of getting the engine rebuilt so I can start driving it this summer.

Notes: It's just my grand fathers old farm truck. It was red now faded to orange. Rough but runs good. Will go places most don't take 4x4s. Its hauled MASSIVE loads! I have a Mighty Mike and another Chev 4x4 I would like to find homes for or I'll sell parts fair cheap. Its just stuff not gold. Mighty Mike is real rough. The chev 4x4 has fair body but zero compression. palooka54@yahoo

LUV: 1980 Daily Driver

Location: Vidalia, GA USA
Forum Name: Bad_Apple
Notes: My Great GrandFather originally bought a 1980 LUV Truck USED 7-16-83 with 36170 miles on it 4sd. Baby Blue in color. He used it as a his fishing truck and truck to drive around his farm, as far as that the truck stayed in a enclosed shop out the weather. When he passed away in 2007 I asked my Grandmother for the truck and she gave it to me as long as I promised not to Sell it, Truck had 44640 origanal miles on it. Paint was a chalky but after the truck was buffed out it looked like it roled off the Show Room. Bias-ply tires where dry rotted so I bought a set of aftermarket wheel and tires. I also had a sprayed in bedliner installed to cover up the scrath's on the bed. I daily drive the truck to work when I dont drive my Duramax Diesel. The truck runs great and is still all original with only 46650K miles on it today 3/2011. Peoples draws drop when they ask if thats the orignal paint cause I how good of the LUV truck is in. Very Proud to own this LiL Truck.
