LUV: 1975 Street/Strip
Name: Adam Mitchell
Location: Seattle,

Notes: One day I saw this chevy luv driving in to where I worked, it sounded and looked badass. I talked to the guy and asked what was under the hood. He had taken a 455 Olds and bored it out to 514 cu in. It was sweet and I decided I had to build one. I have a '75 luv and I just bought a 350 small block and I am rebuilding a th350 and putting a shift kit in it. This is my senior project. My olds was totaled and I am putting all the money into the truck. My olds was fast and I have only lost races to two cars with it, both my friends. one was a 67 cornet with a 440 and the other was a ford probe GT. My luv has to beat them so if you have any good tips let me know. I need all the info to build a fast street legal luv. |

Location: Lancaster,

Forum Name: Luvracin
Notes: The vehicle was built from several different years. The front end from an earlier 72/73 model and the back end from a 74/79 model. The cab and front fenders were stretched 6in.The bed sides were cut off at the front 6in and are removable. The drip rails on the cab was removed and moved outward 3/16 in
to allow the lexan window to be put on the face of the door for better aerodynamics.
I custom made the chassis the fit this many different modifications.
Along with the removable bed sides, the doors and front end is removable. The floor on the passenger side is removable along with the tunnel and drive loop and it's tunnel.

Name: Mark
Location: MT USA
Forum Name: 1BADLUV
Notes: I have a 1980 Chevy Luv 4x4 that is highly modified! Pretty much everything on it has been changed except for the body. The axles and suspension are from an 81 toyota 4x4. The engine is a 4.3 liter V6 out of a 93 Chevy truck. It has a Holley four barrel and Hedman Hedders...estimated 200+ HP. It is backed by a turbo 350 tranny with shift kit and 2500 stall converter, and a NP208C transfer case splits the power. It currently rides on 33 x 12.50-15 Swampers, soon to be 38's. Future plans include front and rear lockers, a winch, a full roll cage, a supercharger and new suspension all the way around. Check it out at my website. |

Notes: This is the LUV I purchased about six months ago. It has about 3 inches of body lift, and larger than factory tires. This beast has the 4 cyl. gasoline engine, but when I have the time and money, I have a friend who will supply me with a V8 305 and transmission. This has got the Possitrack 4*4 which helps while out hunting. I LUV my LUV. |

Forum Name: mouse53
Notes: Have had my LUV for over 8 years and it has always been my baby. Original Yellow, Izuzu motor, 5 speed, 186,000 and going strong. Have lowered 2 in, 15x8 4x4 rims and 60s, painting the rims to match the truck has made the biggest difference, plus beauty rings and stock caps. Added a rack and use it daily for work. Maybe when the smog laws change I will add a V8. Even has a Kicker 12" behind the seat, R/F amp, and Pioneer DEH P2500 for sound. |

LUV: 1980 Street/Strip
Name: Phil Giffin
Location: Fayetteville,

Notes: I bought my Luv from my Brother-in-law for 100 $'s. My Father-in-law bought it new. Right now, its ALL original....except for the seats & wheels. I've got a 406/350 to put in it, when I can get the time. I snagged the complete wiring harness, buckets, console w/shifter from my old '82 Camaro I had. I plan to start on the Luv this spring. I plan on running it on the strip, for about the next 2 summers....by then it will not require emissions to run on the street. It has over 400,000 miles on the original 1.8 ISUZU!! AND, it still runs.....wont pass emissions.....but still runs!!!!! ANYBODY who knows how to convert the front 6 lug drums to 5 lug.....PLEASE, tell me how. |
