Notes: I am a proud owner of a 1975 Luv. My truck right now is waiting for me toput the chevy v-6 in it. I am in the process of reapholstering the cab and plan to have the new engine in it by mid april of 2005. My Luv has been sitting with a shot 4 cylinder for about seven years and I picked it up for $200. The v-6 I am planning on putting in it is a chevy 4.1 liter and for now it will be used for work and school. This upcoming winter I plan on doing a full body and drivetrain rebuild. If you have any questions about my Luv machine email me at Lenny_B_07@Yahoo.com |

Notes: Im 17 years old. I got my little luv about two months ago. Its a 76' Mikado. My dad bought it for my first vehicle. It runs alright (it still needs alot of work). When we first got it, it ran pretty crappy, but we replaced the head on it and it runs alot better. Before we got it, it just sat in the backyard, and who ever had it ripped out the ignition switch and hot-wired it. So the guy that owned it hooked it up to two house light switches, (one for the starter, and one to turn everything on). So we found a ignition switch and installed it. The electrical system is all bummed out, so if any one knows how to rewire all that stuff please let me know. We just got a back glass for it so we're goin to put that in pretty soon. But if anyone has any parts for sale, we could use just about anything. Let me know if you got anything e-mail me and we will see what you got. |

LUV: 1979 4x4
Name: Darrek Kay
Location: Hillsboro,

Forum Name: dkay
Notes: My 1979 4x4 project truck is getting a major overhaul. I'm replacing nearly the entire drive-train. It has new bearings/seals all around, a 5-spd manual tranny, a 1.9L G200, Weber Carb, Offenhauser intake, Pacesetter header into a 2" exhaust, new tie-rod ends, ball joints, bushings, half-shafts, clutch, motor mounts... I'm hoping to get it completely finished by August '05.
I've stripped all the paint from the engine compartment and will be painting it a light-gray color. The frame won't be stripped, but it will be repainted. I'm undecided on the exterior color as of yet. I'm also unsure if it will get a standard box or a flatbed before I'm done.
