Notes: I am a proud owner of a 1980 Chevy LUV 4x4. I have just re-done the interior with Levis and I think it turned out pretty cool. Its one of a kind. The truck was a wreck when I purchased it in late 2000. I have a ton of money in the damn thing, but thats all right. I have a truck that will take me anywhere I wish to go...with in reason!! Its not a mudder or a stump jumper or a kelly hump humper but it goes where no full size truck may even want to go. 235 75 15's are on it now but I do have a very tall set of 14 that I am going to put on. Got cool slotted mags with em also. The truck was in bad and I mean bad shape when I purchsed it. Bullet holes in the floor board and mud like you could not believe. I just wished I had taken pictures of the thing before I started. NO ONE would believe what I have done to the thing so far. The list is very-very long!!
It started out as a hunk of junk for 300 bucks! Weber carb was over 400 and I have invested alot of money in this thing that I absolutly LUV!!! I am now having to replace the motor because of a cracked head and ended up with fuel in the oil!! DAMN THE LUCK!! Bullet holes in the floor board and not alot of rust to contend with but lots of work. Redone the interior with "LEVIS"! Glassed the whole floor board after patching all the bullet holes! Have XM sattalite radio so I have tunes where ever I may go and Alpine and Infinity speakers hooked up to a Sony Explode deck. Seats are out of 98 Saturn Car. I have 15 inch tires and wheels but I am changing them to a tall 14 inch tire and wheels. The little 4 banger just dont like them BIG tires. I will lose about an inch of ground clearence but the fuel milage should increase, I HOPE! I think its one of a kind. |

Notes: I have a 1974 Chevy Luv which is my pride and joy. My truck is blue with a darker blue scallop stripes on the front. Right now it only has a 4-cylinder Isuzu engine it it with a 4 speed tranny. Soon it will have a small block V-8 with a 350 turbo automatic tranny in it. This truck is totally re-done from its original shape done by myself and my dad. My dad did the custom paint job on the exterior as well as he painted the interior also. We tore the engine apart and re-built it. We put new carpet in it and made a dash cover for it. Also we just replaced the single bench seat with a pair of nice grey bucket seats out of a Ford Escort. The back window is tinted and to replace the regular mirror it has a wink mirror or box mirror. This truck is my daily driver. |

Notes: Well, my grandfather owned my LUV before I was even born. He died before I was born too. I always saw my LUV as a farm truck that my grandma and dad drove. The only time it went on the road was to haul lawn mowers, four-wheelers, or cow feed. It was the first vehicle I ever drove, and it was a four speed at that. Although it is only two wheel drive and has a long bed, I still took it through trails and swamps around the farm. It was red when we met but at age 7 I painted it black, and put white racing stripes down the middle. This was done with a WAGNER paint gun and a gallon of RUST-O-LEUM. I took the seatbelts out to loose weight. lol what can I say I have also been a NASCAR fan my whole life.

Anyways the son-of-a-bitch has been around for a long time and I love it. Throughout my childhood I developed many dreams for my truck. motors and guages and rear ends and trannys. Well my dad saw how much I loved the truck and when my grandma died in 2005 he asked me if i wanted it I said yes so he signed it over to me and now it is mine. I use it now as a work truck because I frame houses and often get muddy. I love my LUV. I hope to one day cut the bed and frame down to normal length, build a bad ass motor for it , tub the .........ok you get the point. I love looking at all of yalls projects on here. Thank you so muck LUVTruck.com for making a place so helpful and entertaining for all of the Chevy LUV Truck Owners!!!

Notes: 1981 4X4 Diesel. Yellow of course Have had it for about 7 years
it gets great mileage avg 32. Seems to have enough power with the million mile isuzu 58 hp beast that lurks deeply under the hood! It has its battle scars but i dont think i could ever get rid of it. I have to say one of the funnest things about it is pulling up at the truck-stop behind a big rig and filling up where all the big trucks go and leaving a cloud of black smoke when i go DIESEL POWER convertables hate me but i still LUV my LUV

Notes: I have a 79 Chevy Luv 4x4,pretty much stock.I also have a few more for parts, and one 2x4 i used to drive.I live in a small town of about 5000 people, and my yellow Luv stands out.I enjoy working on it myself, and enjoy driving more.I`m always looking for after market goodies, which i am not finding much of.So i have been making whatever i need for them, some things are off other trucks that i have fitted to my luv`s.I did find a set of dauls off a small r.v. ,like the Toyota`s r.v.`s,they are a one piece wheel with two tires, but look neat anyway.I also have a flatbed that is on my 2x4,which is what the dauls was on.I have found that a 50 amp alt. works better and is 10 bucks cheapper than the 30 amp, which is for non-a.c.,at Autozone.Anyway, the Luv`s are a neat pick-up. |
