LUV: 1978 Daily Driver
Name: Andy Scholl
Location: Santa Ysabel, CA USA
Forum Name: ChevyLUV
Notes: I've had my LUV since 1993. This here truck has been fun though the years. I've rebuilt the 1.8L four times now, Overheating caused by factory fan, timming chain blow up, ect ect.... I installed 14 inch electric fan and that cured the heating problem. The truck was red from factory, though I wanted to learn how to paint a color change, so now its Yellow and he likes it this way. It now has weber carb and offenhouser intake, (thanks to this website) bored 40 over, factory cam, flowmaster exhust, 16" factory GM wheels, electronic engnition, electric heated leather seats, center console and overhead console from a chevy blazer, Tachometer from junk yard Porche 911 that looks factory in the LUV dash. I get all kinds of folks who stop me and talk about my truck who haven't seen a LUV in years, it's nice to share stories with them.

LUV: 1974 Daily Driver
Name: don
Location: Fall river mills, CA USA
Forum Name: fall river don
Notes: this is my second luv, first was a very fast daily driver with a 450 hp 355 long rod small block, with a highly modified 700r4. it was a 1976, was, being the operative word, I live in california and just after I built this ride, they changed the rules on what year had to be smogged, so it was move or part out one fun daily driver.. the luv I now drive is a 1974 one owner truck, I have just finished doing the conversion to a 4.3 v.6. with a 5 speed manual transmission. it is a fun driver, and way better on the gas, which is a big deal here in california. would be glad to answer any questions about what was done. I am a retired ase master mechanic, with over 50 years experience working on cars.

LUV: 1979 Show Truck
Name: HARE
Location: Wellston, MI USA
Notes: 1979 MotorTrend TRUCK OF THE YEAR Ol' Rusty is a yellow 79 Micaddo 4x4, stock class, with a custom color matched truck bed stylized trailer (3 years of spare time custom metalwork to make it look right), $35K involved and thousands of hours in the 2 frame off restorations over the past 20 years, many stock parts chromed, oversized Magnaflow polished stainless exhaust custom bent to stock routing, color matched bed liner, every nut and bolt tumbled, polished and painted. Many best in class trophies, and recent best in show. This LUV is driven to shows and in parades during the season in Michigan. It started live as an Old Rusty hunting truck and was brought back to life with years of crawling through salvage yards around the US to find a better part... The paint is a 2 part epoxy (over $6K in the truck paint) the 4x4 stickers were custom made by a local sign shop from photos and original sales literature. This LUV regularly beats short-wides with over 100K invested because there is a long row of short wide pickups and only 1 LUV at most shows. The best part is talking to the folks at the shows who say things like "I always wanted a Silverado but the Luv is what I could afford, I sure do miss my Luv...".
