LUV: 1979 Show Truck
Name: HARE
Location: Wellston, MI USA
Notes: 1979 MotorTrend TRUCK OF THE YEAR Ol' Rusty is a yellow 79 Micaddo 4x4, stock class, with a custom color matched truck bed stylized trailer (3 years of spare time custom metalwork to make it look right), $35K involved and thousands of hours in the 2 frame off restorations over the past 20 years, many stock parts chromed, oversized Magnaflow polished stainless exhaust custom bent to stock routing, color matched bed liner, every nut and bolt tumbled, polished and painted. Many best in class trophies, and recent best in show. This LUV is driven to shows and in parades during the season in Michigan. It started live as an Old Rusty hunting truck and was brought back to life with years of crawling through salvage yards around the US to find a better part... The paint is a 2 part epoxy (over $6K in the truck paint) the 4x4 stickers were custom made by a local sign shop from photos and original sales literature. This LUV regularly beats short-wides with over 100K invested because there is a long row of short wide pickups and only 1 LUV at most shows. The best part is talking to the folks at the shows who say things like "I always wanted a Silverado but the Luv is what I could afford, I sure do miss my Luv...".

LUV: 1978 Daily Driver
Name: Mike
Location: Prescott, AZ USA
Forum Name: mtrhdmaurice
Notes: I would be very interested in seeing or even knowing if any of these are still around and others thoughts on them. Mine has been a sturdy part, though limited, in my work inventory for.... 25 yrs. I Love my LUV! She is rock solid when she is OK, but you can imagine her life as a work truck with the inherent issues these trucks possess makes her finicky at best... so I love her a little and she comes out to play. Great truck so far as Im concerned. (What can I say?...)

LUV: 1978 Pro Street
Name: Tucker
Location: Noble, OK USA
Forum Name: pinkpanther89
Notes: Well, to introduce ourselves, we are Odos and Brenda Tucker and we own Tucker's Tree Service in Noble, OK. We own a '78 Chevy Luv truck that is unlike any other. The Pink Panther is holding a husqvarna on both rear quarter panels as well as on the tailgate. It is a very eye catching fushia color, with baby pink and dark blue pinstripes down the side. It's had the name Pink Panther for a while. It is a Little M Dart 406, Dart pro 1 heads, 208 with a 160. All scat rods...13 to 1 compression....Jessell Rockers and dyno'd at 589.9. Set up to run C16, has 500 shot NX system, 400 reverse tranny with brake built by Wilson's Transmission in OKC, Ok. It is a Boyd Racing Engine, built by Louis Boyd in Norman, Ok. Back-half truck has 10 Pt. roll cage, 5 Pt. buckets, reverse shift-pattern with brake, 950 Quickfuel Carb, all Mallory ignition and an MSD 6AL box. Has been 9.30's before complete overhaul. It has an 8 3/4 strange rear-end. Has 16x31x14 Goodyear Eagle Slicks and Hoosiers on the front. This truck is very unique. It's NHRA cert. for 8.50 but would be cert. for 7.50 with a funny car halo installed. Should run 9 flat on motor alone. Brand new and has never been raced. Ran twice on the dyno and made one pass down the truck. It also includes the full interior....

LUV: 1980 Street
Name: Esteban
Location: Covina, CA USA

Name: gavin
Location: Tulsa, OK USA
Forum Name: skrewtape
Notes: Just traded my motorcycle for it - it's a stepside and I've already been asked about it a lot, but I don't think it's factory stepside. So i have mixed emotions about it. It was a California truck; the owner before me bought it from his uncle and drove it here, to Oklahoma, then got sent overseas and the thing sat for 7 years with 30k miles. All I need to do is fix up the paint and interior. The thing runs like a champ.
