LUV: 1973 Show Truck
Name: Garland Farris III
Location: Greensboro, NC USA
Notes: I dragged this truck out from a friends backyard(forest), we actaully had to cut down trees to get it out. It has gone thru a total transformation. The luv was all rusted out, rockers, lower doors, bed floor and cowl area all had to be replaced. My vision for the truck is to have a clean smooth look like some of high end hot rods. I used a set of good 77 doors w/one piece glass no vent win. Filled all side marker lights and gas fill. Custom front end was hand fab out of steel with fog lights and custom grill made. Exhaust tips recessed in bed exit behind tires. Hand fab rear roll pan with bowtie tail lights. Gas fill is now in bed with alum gas door. Sliding rag top installed. Dash was cut out and custom one added with custom consoul. TPI gauges in custom made alumm panel and hand made heat controls out of alum. Dash wraps around into custom door panels. All interior pieces are hand made. Chevy 350 with a turbo 350 trans and a s-10 rear end. Front has 5 lug conv w/vega rotors (How to on LUVTRUCK.com)and Camero SS 17in wheels all the way around. This truck was my first on a frame off build. I taught my self to weld, fab with metal and paint. I have done everything to this truck at this point but the only thing I won't be able to do is the seats and carpet. It has been 3 years in the making and I really can't wait to enjoy. Its amazing how creative you have to be when you use simple hand/power tools.
