Notes: My LUV is a mixture of a lot of trucks. The engine is out of an 1980, and the bed is from a 1978. The transmission is a 5 speed out of a desiel chevette. The transmission bolted right to the engine but it need a custom driveshaft made for it. The only problem the gears are for a desiel. 3rd gear is too close to 4th,but 5th gear is nice while driving on the freeway. My LUV also has air conditioning, it is out of an OPAL GT.It has bucket seats and I discovered that 6x9 speakers fit perfectly in the holes on the side aft of the doors just above the lower seat belt mounts! My LUV was in a head on accident with a Chevy K5 Blazer when my aunt owned it. She was fine thanks to the LUVs frame. I bought it from her and rebuilt it. The truck used to rebuild it was a 1980 and it was white the 1976 was orange so it had that wrecking yard look to it. I never noticed how bad it looked untill my dad drove it to Tucson AZ and I followed in my Suburban. After I saw it from the outside driving I knew I had to paint it right a way! So I painted it to match my Suburban, gray with a white cap. Now it looks sharp and I get complements on it. I like my LUV, I've driven it for almost 11 years. The longest trip I've made in it was from Idaho to Arizona.....non stop! In 32 hours! I think the Chevy LUV is the BEST of the baby trucks!
